The mission of Atlanta’s carnival is to broaden the understanding and appreciated for Caribbean culture within the Metro Atlanta community. The first Caribbean Carnival in Atlanta was held in 1988 and has traditionally kicked off the start of Carnival season in the U.S..
Since 2005 the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association (ACCBA) has produced the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival. In recent years more and more West Indians are migrating to the region which we see reflected in the Carnival’s growth. It’s certainly one you don’t want to miss if given the opportunity.
